We were due for a good ole' fashioned trip to the seashore. This is the third time in the last 13 months or so we've escaped down to the Oregon Coast for a get away. It's been nice to have 'a place'. Isaac knows the area now and can navigate the routine well. In fact, as soon as we drove in, he pointed in the direction of the pool and asked to go swimming! The boy has his priorities.
Isn't it beautiful?!
Swinging on the beach is particularly fun!

We rode a surrey around town--which is surprisingly harder than it looks! but Isaac got a big kick out of being the big man up front and pointing which direction to go. We walked the prom and devoured homemade gelato from our favorite little shop. Isaac swam like a fish in the hotel pool, Gramma got her much needed rest after a week at Royal Family Kids Camp and I got to finish a book I've been dying to get to. We even saw the winning game for the Olympic qualifying Foot Volley(I didn't even know this was a thing, but apparently it will be a demonstration sport in Rio this year!) It was a nice little get away and we filled Isaac's memory bank with another "trip to the seashore!"
THIS is why I can't let go of his legs when he sits on my shoulders!
He seemed particularly suspicious of Gramma this weekend, multiple times telling her (via language) he was 'keeping an eye on her". What 5 year old says that?!
We have been so blessed by Isaac's preschool. His teachers treasure each child, meet them where they are at and most importantly truly love the Lord. I've joked often that every child should have a tour of duty in a black Baptist preschool: they'll make sure you know Jesus & love the noodles out of you, but they aren't going to take any of your nonsense! What perfect combination for a tribe of 3-5 year olds!
Isaac has been given love, structure, guidance and encouragement towards his absolute best. Because of that, he'll be joining a typical kindergarten in our local school district in the fall. He'll be the first child with an extra chromosome at his new school and if his new teachers are anything like the ones he has had for the last two years, I know he'll thrive.
This afternoon was his preschool graduation. Benedictions, balloons, song & dance and lots of celebration.

The grand performance of World's Greatest. (They've been practicing for months!)
And finally, his diploma...he shot out of his chair like a bullet to run and get what he worked so hard to get (then stopped for his own encore in the middle of the room...that's my boy!)

So proud of my big boy! Here we come Kindergarten!!
