Not So Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend: a national holiday to celebrate the working people...by allowing them not to labor. That's my kind of holiday!

After Isaac & I had such a great weekend at the seashore over Memorial Day, Gramma said that sounded like her kind of vacation, so we packed up the car and headed back to the Oregon Coast this time with Isaac's favorite person in the seat in front of him.

Family road trip!

The weather was PERFECT. We strolled the promenade, shopped on the boardwalk, people watched (free hugs from a bike riding Sasquatch anyone?), fed the seals at the aquarium, swam in the pool, and ate the WORLD'S BEST gelato...twice. (Not going to lie, the first day it was a double scoop...the second day it was a triple scoop!)   And of course, we played on the beach.

STROLLING THE PROM:

VISITING THE AQUARIUM:

Feeding the seals!
He was SO gentle with the touch tank!
He has come A LONG way in this regard.

He found the 'hishies"

BEACH TIME:
Isaac and Gramma had a new game in the sand: Gramma would bury Isaac's legs, making sure his toes could NOT escape...then Isaac would BREAK FREE, defying the chains of death. He would shout for joy, make sure everyone was clapping for him, then he would JUMP as high as he could: I did it! I will not be overcome!  I can do anything!!

Don't forget my toes, Gramma

He breaks free!

I survived, momma!

(Sand & snot = perfect combination)

Jumping for joy...He made it!!

It was a lovely weekend with perfect weather, great views, fun in the sand and amazing gelato (...did I mention the gelato? Incredible!) But most importantly making labor-free memories with family in the final days of summer.

Three generations of beach lovers
