Hamming it up on the tour bus! |
Today we had our appointment at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. The process was surprisingly quick. Together with 6 other families we took a group oath swearing to the truth of all our paperwork, then met individually with a Visa officer to affirm each child's adoptive status. I was a little nervous because of the goof discovered yesterday, but I was assured that Isaac's visa would be processed normally as soon as the new paperwork arrived this afternoon. Hallelujah! This means that we can keep our original flight schedule home. (We are totally ready to get on the plane!) With the immigrant visa approved, Isaac will be officially recognized as a US citizen when we set foot in Seattle on Wednesday. My little American with the Chinese eyes will FINALLY be home.
